Aquila is a Worth 40 Sailboat, Cruiser sleeps 6
.
Aquila is a 1983 Worth 40. First one built for an Englishman. Several in San Francisco Bay area. Other like her might be else where in the world. Very similar to the Swan 40 deck and cabin layout. She is in average condition for 24.
She has a nice aspect ratio to her sail plain and deep keel (7'3").
She sails very nice and easily reaches
6 kts. She sleeps up to 8, with two in the aft cabin, two forward in the
V-berth, and up to four in the main cabin. The forward and aft cabins each
have a head with a shower. The main cabin has headroom for persons 6 foot
tall. The galley is on the port side and navigation station is on the
starboard side with the companionway centered between them. The 4-cylinder
Perkins 4-108 diesel is just below the companionway with the cover being part of
the steps down. Engine has easy access on four sides. There is a
drop leaf table that seats 4 to 6 in the main cabin.

Web site for reviews. No site could be
found. Problem is Worth is a hard word to search. We have never seen
another one like her. The Chinese built a lot of boats in the 80's.
It looks like they copied a Swan.
Hull - Painted 5 years ago. There are some minor scratches.
Fresh bottom paint.
Deck - Teak planks over fiberglass. Teak is worn in some
areas, but has been kept clean. No oil has been applied in several years.
Exposed fiberglass was repainted light gray prior to us owning her, but it is
time to repaint these areas again, just cosmetic.
Interior - No bad smells. Cushions
are all in good shape, but zippers have corroded. Woodwork is in good shape but
needs a fresh coat of varnish or oil. Heads function, but no holding tanks.
Fresh water pump worked, but system pipes need repair. There are two large
stainless fresh water tanks with approximate capacity of 100 gallons. Galley has
a double stainless sink. Gas stove might work but never used, and is kind of
rusty. Gas is stored out side in aft locker, but was never used and there is no
tank. There is a large ice box with 12 volt ice maker that worked last
season. Lots of storage.
Engine - Perkins 4-108, 4 cylinder diesel. Run good, but
needs some work. Charging system works. There are three batteries for house and
engine. 30 gallon tank. Engine controls on wheel pedestal work.
Rudder - Wheel, pedestal, quadrant, and rudder post are in
good working order.
Standing and Running Rigging - All in good working order.
Halyards, sheets, and lines are in good shape.
Sails are old, but work.
Instruments - Wind Speed and direction, Boat speed and
Depth. VHF, and Stereo.
